Hallenfest

Hallenfest, literally Hall Festival. Hall in the sense of a building like a Union Hall. Our Hallenfest is for the whole New York District. It has two major components, a gymnastics meet for boys and girls ages 4 to 16 and a Cultural Exhibit open to all Turner members.

The Cultural Exhibit portion is divided into age groups and talent categories. Included in the talent categories are such diverse disciplines as; ballet, essay writing, photography, singing, poetry, painting, needle art and sewing, crafts and collections. There is even group competition with categories including musical singing duets, quartets and chorus'. Other groups include bands and dramas, variety and dance. Each talent is judged and awarded ribbons, where applicable, and points which go to the member's society. Total points determine the winning society. LIT has a record to be very proud of, especially when considering our relatively small membership size.
