Rules Reminders

(1)    In order to qualify for any of the individual awards at the end of the season, you must have bowled in at least 2/3 of the games. In other words, anyone who has not bowled 64 or more games by season’s end will not qualify for an individual award.
(2)    In addition to the high average, series, and game that are posted on the sheet each week, we will again give a fourth individual award. It will go to the man and woman who have improved their averages the most. This will be computed by subtracting each bowler’s entering average from his/her final average.
(3)    When a bowler is under doctor’s care for long term illness or injury and no substitute is available for him/her, then the 10 point/game absence penalty shall be waived.
(4)    No bowler may receive more than one plaque and cash prize for individual accomplishments.
(5)    If an entire team is absent and no substitute is there to replace at least one team member, then that team shall receive 0 points and the team that is present must bowl against the sum of the blind scores of the absent team to earn points.

Rules for Bowling with a Blind Team

(1)    If you are scheduled to bowl against the Blind Team, then the score that you must beat in order to earn game points will be the sum of your team’s blind scores. For example, if the averages of Moe, Larry and Curly are 160, 140 and 120 respectively, then their blind scores are 150, 130, and 110. 150 + 130 + 110 = 390, so that’s the total that must be beaten to earn 4 points for a game. To earn the 2 points for the series, the team playing the blind must beat 390 x 3 or 1170.
(2)    When a team member is absent and has a sub, then the sub’s blind score will be used in place of the absentee bowler’s. If no sub has been provided, then the bowler’s blind score will be used, so essentially his/her score won’t count.
(3)    A won-lost record will be kept for the Blind Team and its rank in the standings will be used in assigning teams for Position Rounds.

Get to the bowling alley on time.  Punctuality is respect for another person’s time.

Be prepared when it’s your turn to bowl.

The bowler on the RIGHT has the right of way.

If the bowler on your LEFT picks up his/her ball from the rack before you, then allow him/her to bowl first.

Don’t stand on the lanes for more than a few seconds after you have released your ball.  The 7-10 split you just got will not change if you stand there staring at it.

Step down from the approach while waiting for your ball to return.

Do not drink in the settee area.  Even a little bit of liquid on the bottom of a bowling shoe can cause serious injury.

Do not run up on a bowler that is bowling near you

Be kind to your league secretary and return dues envelopes to him ASAP so that he can enjoy the evening.
